Donna is a practicing dental hygienist of 46 years. Throughout her career, she has held a deep passion for geriatric patients, particularly those navigating the challenges of physical dexterity or memory loss.
Having personally cared for family members with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and dementia, Donna knows how difficult daily hygiene tasks can become. When memory or mobility fades, a simple toothbrush can cause fear and resistance. She founded Tender Touch Oral Healthcare because she believes our loved ones deserve to be free from mouth pain and deserve a level of meticulous care that preserves both their dignity and their health. Donna carries a profound commitment to elevating full-body wellness through meticulous oral healthcare.
Donna founded Tender Touch Oral Healthcare to protect a vulnerable community of people who are literally “dying from dirty teeth”. (A phrase insightfully coined by Donna’s colleague and friend, Angie Stone). Uncontrolled oral bacteria can lead to aspiration pneumonia which is a leading cause of death in elders. This uncontrolled bacterium also increases the risk of developing diabetes, stroke, heart attack, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, dementia and a host of other ailments that can result in preventable discomfort and serious medical complications.
